The programme is designed specifically for industry practitioners to upgrade their knowledge and skills in the field of beauty industry.
This proramme aims to:
equip students with the necessary competences to pursue a career advancement in the field of beauty industry after graduation.
cover both theoretical knowledge and practical skills.
Programme is jointly organized with Farida Professional Academy of Aesthetics to ensure that practical skills learnt are up to the industry's standard.
Classes are usually offered in the evenings of Monday to Friday and in Saturday afternoon.
This programme is recognized under the Qualifications Framework (QF: level 4; QR registration number: 09/001356/4; and the validity period from 01 March 2009 to 31 December 2015).
One-year programme with 240 contact hours.
It consists of 5 modules.
Classes are usually offered on Monday to Saturday, usually one day (DayTime) or two day (Night Time) per week.
Three intakes per year.
Medium of Instruction
The medium of instruction will be in Cantonese supplementary with English. Study materials will mainly be in Chinese.
Assessment
Students’ performances are assessed by the continuous assessments (i.e. written assignments / projects), practicums and examinations. The weighting of assessment for continuous assessments is 75% and examination is 25%.
Except for module: "Human Resources & Organizational Behavior " (70% continuous assessment and 30% examination)
The passing mark for both continuous assessments and examination is 50%.
Students are required to achieve a minimum of 75% attendance in each subject.
Award
An academic transcript will be issued to each upon completion of the programme.
A “Professional Diploma in Cosmetology Management" will be awarded upon completion of the programme.
