Diploma in Customer Service and Selling Skills

Admission Requirements

  • 3 passes in the HKCEE, and Level 2 / Grade E or above in Chinese Language & English Language with 2 years of working experience; or

  • Satisfactory completion of Project Yi Jin Programme with 2 years of working experience; or

  • Being 21 years of age or above; or

  • Other equivalent qualifications to be assessed by LIFE.

Programme Objectives

This programme aims to:

  • embrace the customer services and sales concepts, reflecting the key knowledge and skills' areas required by today's professional marketing and sales practitioners.

  • explain the importance of customer orientation in marketing concept.

  • know different ways of understanding and communicating with customers.

Programme Features

  • Graduates can articulate to higher level of academic studies (i.e. Professional Diploma) or join the workforce.

  • This programme is recognized under the Qualifications Framework (QF: level 3; QR registration number: 11/001619/3; and the validity period from 25 October 2011 to 31 December 2015).

Programme Structure

  • One-year programme with 192 contact hours.

  • It consist 6 moduels to total.

  • Classes are usually offered in the evening of Monday to Friday or in Saturday afternoon, usually two lessons per week.

  • Two intakes per year.


Medium of Instruction

  • The medium of instruction will be in Cantonese supplemented by English. Study materials will mainly be in English.


Assessment

  • Students' performances are assessed by the continuous assessments (i.e. written assignments / projects), practicums and examinations. The weighting of assessment for continuous assessments is 60% and examination is 40%.

  • The passing mark for both continuous assessments and examination is 50%.

  • Students are required to achieve a minimum of 80% attendance in each subject.
